How are you?

A 創世記第３章は、最初の人間であるアダムとエバが、神の意に背き神と人との完全な関係を壊したことが書かれています。聖書はその後、すべての人は神との関係が破れたと書いています。 しかし、神との関係がそこなわれ、精神的には病んでいるにもかかわらず、人は一見幸せで、また健康だと自分を考えています。
In Genesis Chapter 3 the Bible tells the story of Adam and Eve, the first humans, and their rebellion against God which ruined the perfect relationship they had with God. Since then, all people have been born with a broken relationship with God. Even though people may seem happy and healthy, they are suffering spiritually.


Now the snake was the most cunning animal that the Lord God had made. The snake asked the woman, "Did God really tell you not to eat fruit from any tree in the garden?"

"We may eat the fruit of any tree in the garden," the woman answered, "except the tree in the middle of it. God told us not to eat the fruit of that tree or even touch it; if we do, we will die."

The snake replied, "That's not true; you will not die. God said that because he knows that when you eat it, you will be like God and know what is good and what is bad."

The woman saw how beautiful the tree was and how good its fruit would be to eat, and she thought how wonderful it would be to become wise. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, and he also ate it. As soon as they had eaten it, they were given understanding, and realized that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and covered themselves.

That evening they heard the Lord God walking in the garden, and they hid from him among the trees. But the Lord God called out to the man, "Where are you?"

 主なる神が造られた野の生き物のうちで、最も賢いのは蛇であった。蛇は女に言った。「園のどの木からも食べてはいけない、などと神は言われたのか。」

女は蛇に答えた。 「わたしたちは園の木の果実を食べてもよいのです。でも、園の中央に生えている木の果実だけは、食べてはいけない、触れてもいけない、死んではいけないから、と神様はおっしゃいました。」

蛇は女に言った。 「決して死ぬことはない。それを食べると、目が開け、神のように善悪を知るものとなることを神はご存じなのだ。」

女が見ると、その木はいかにもおいしそうで、目を引き付け、賢くなるように唆していた。女は実を取って食べ、一緒にいた男にも渡したので、彼も食べた。二人の目は開け、自分たちが裸であることを知り、二人はいちじくの葉をつづり合わせ、腰を覆うものとした。

その日、風が吹くころ、主なる神が園の中を歩く音が聞こえてきた。アダムと女が、主なる神の顔を避けて、園の木の間に隠れると、主なる神はアダムを呼ばれた。 「どこにいるのか。」
He answered, "I heard you in the garden; I was afraid and hid from you, because I was naked."

"Who told you that you were naked?" God asked. "Did you eat the fruit that I told you not to eat?"

The man answered, "The woman you put here with me gave me the fruit, and I ate it."

The Lord God asked the woman, "Why did you do this?"

She replied, "The snake tricked me into eating it."

Then the Lord God said to the snake, "You will be punished for this; you alone of all the animals must bear this curse: From now on you will crawl on your belly, and you will have to eat dust as long as you live. I will make you and the woman hate each other; her offspring and yours will always be enemies. Her offspring will crush your head, and you will bite their heel."

 彼は答えた。 「あなたの足音が園の中に聞こえたので、恐ろしくなり、隠れております。わたしは裸ですから。」

神は言われた。 「お前が裸であることを誰が告げたのか。取って食べるなと命じた木から食べたのか。」

アダムは答えた。

「あなたがわたしと共にいるようにしてくださった女が、木から取って与えたので、食べました。」

主なる神は女に向かって言われた。 「何ということをしたのか。」

女は答えた。 「蛇がだましたので、食べてしまいました。」

主なる神は、蛇に向かって言われた。 「このようなことをしたお前は あらゆる家畜、あらゆる野の獣の中で 呪われるものとなった。 お前は、生涯這いまわり、塵を食らう。お前と女、お前の子孫と女の子孫の間にわたしは敵意を置く。 彼はお前の頭を砕きお前は彼のかかとをく。」


ローマの信徒への手紙 （ロマ書) ３：１０から２０では、人と神との関係のやぶれについて述べています。
Romans 3: 10-20 describes this broken relationship.


As the Scriptures say:

"There is no one who is righteous. No one who is wise or who worships God. All have turned away from God; they have all gone wrong; no one does what is right, not even one. Their words are full of deadly deceit; wicked lies roll off their tongues, and dangerous threats, like snake's poison, from their lips; their speech is filled with bitter curses. They are quick to hurt and kill; they leave ruin and destruction wherever they go. They have not known the path of peace, nor have they learned reverence for God."

Now we know that everything in the Law applies to those who live under the Law, in order to stop all human excuses and bring the whole world under God's judgment. For no one is put right in God's sight by doing what the Law requires; what the Law does is to make man know that he has sinned.

 次のように書いてあるとおりです。

「正しい者はいない。一人もいない。悟る者もなく、神を探し求める者もいない。皆迷い、だれもかれも役にたたない者となった。善を行う者はいない。ただの一人もいない。彼らののどは開いた墓のようであり、彼らは舌で人を欺き、その唇には蝮の毒がある。口は、呪いと苦みで満ち、足は血を流すのに速く、その道には破壊と悲惨がある。彼らは平和の道を知らない。彼らの目には神への畏れがない。」

さて、わたしたちが知っているように、すべて律法の言うところは、律法の下にいる人々に向けられています。それは、すべての人の口がふさがれて、全世界が神の裁きに服するようになるためなのです。なぜなら、律法を実行することによっては、だれ一人神の前で義とされないからです。律法によっては、罪の自覚が生じないのです。

But now God's way of putting people right with himself has been revealed. It has nothing to do with law, even though the Law of Moses and the prophets gave their witness to it. God puts people right through their faith in Jesus Christ. God does this to all who believe in Christ, because there is no difference at all: everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence. But by the free gift of God's grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free. God offered him, so that by his sacrificial death he should become the means by which people's sins are forgiven through their faith in him. God did this in order to demonstrate that he is righteous. In the past he was patient and overlooked people's sins; but in the present time he deals with their sins, in order to demonstrate his righteousness. In this way God shows that he himself is righteous and that he puts right everyone who believes in Jesus. ところが今や、律法とは関係なく、しかも律法と預言者によって立証されて、神の義が示されました。すなわち、イエス・キリストを信じることにより、信じる者すべてに与えられる神の義です。そこには何の差別もありません。人は皆、罪を犯して神の栄光を受けられなくなっていますが、ただキリスト・イエスによる贖いの業を通して、神の恵みにより無償で義とされるのです。神はこのキリストを立て、その血によって信じる者のために罪を償う供え物となさいました。それは、今まで人が犯した罪を見逃して、神の義をお示しになるためです。このように神は忍耐してこられたが、今この時に義を示されたのは、御自分が正しい方であることを明らかにし、イエスを信じる者を義となさるためです。

If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. The scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." This includes everyone, because there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles; God is the same Lord of all and richly blesses all who call to him. As the scripture says, "Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved." 口でイエスは主であると公に言い表し、心で神がイエスを死者の中から復活させられたと信じるなら、あなたは救われるからです。実に、人は心で信じて義とされ、口で公に言い表して救われるのです。聖書にも「主を信じる者は、だれでも失望することがない」と書いてあります。ユダヤ人とギリシャ人の区別はなく、すべての人に同じ主がおられ、御自分を呼び求めるすべての人を豊かにお恵みになるからです。「主の名を呼び求める者はだれでも救われる」のです。

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. 信じて洗礼を受ける者は救われるが、信じない者は滅びの宣告を受ける。

For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it. 事実、あなたがたは、恵みより、信仰によって救われました。このことは、自らの力によるのではなく、神の賜物です。行いによるのではありません。それは、だれも誇ることがないためなのです。
